Globat.com Releases Video of Family Sponsored to Eat 300 Hamburgers

Web hosting provider Globat.com delivers a hilarious video of one of the craziest sponsorship deals yet

LOS ANGELES, CA –June 16, 2006 – Los Angeles-based Globat.com®, the world-leader in Performance Web Hosting™, today announced the availability of the video of the family of 3 from Schulenburg, Texas in their quest to drive 900 miles to a White Castle in Missouri and eat 100 hamburgers each. The video of their quest and the mammoth burger feast is available to watch online for free now at www.defyinggravity.com

In similar fashion to the movie Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, the participants, Terri Scott, a long time eBay’er, daughter Kerri Gomez, and Kerri’s boyfriend GW Whitfield, wanted to taste and experience the infamous Sliders so badly, that they created an eBay auction to finance their trip. After Globat.com agreed to sponsor them, the hamburger-eating marathon started on May 9, 2006 and each member of the family was required to finish all 100 hamburgers without leaving the White Castle restaurant. Throughout the adventure, they promoted Globat.com, DefyingGravity.com and had the company’s logos on their vehicle, wore Globat.com t-shirts and temporary tattoos and gave out Globat.com merchandise.

“It was awesome! Joshua at White Castle even sat down and ate 20 burgers with us to encourage us on,” said Terri Scott. “I hope everyone who watches the video gets a sense of how wild this adventure was. 14,000 calories and 700 grams of fat in 28 hours. What an adventure!” Meanwhile, a commentator was floored by the stunt: “Y’all are the only people I know that can make eating 100 White Castle hamburgers fun and exciting. I can’t wait to see what y’all come up with next!”

Attracting media attention world-wide, Globat.com has recently launched a wave of very unique sponsorships and events such as a sponsored birth, and a tattooed human billboard under the banner of “Defying Gravity,” with the ultimate goal to launch at least one such special event in each of the 50 states.
