Globat.com has purchased a 131 year old house fly, caught ten years after the Civil War, which quickly winged its way to the company’s Los Angeles headquarters.

The fly was caught in St. Joseph, Missouri, when it landed in a book which was slammed shut by a sleeping frontiersman. The fly remained trapped in the book, entitled "Scribner's Monthly Vol. IX" for over 131 years until a descendent of the frontiersman placed it up for auction on eBay in February 2006.
